Resurrecting The Oral Traditions.
Storytelling as a key to unlock dormant genetic potential
As I retrace my roots and my ancestry I find so many hidden clues and memories that make my journey and my path all the more translatable. For it was and alway will be in my blood to restore my healing abilities, my extra-sensory awareness and connection with the natural world, and most importantly the oral traditions.
In the past, like in many other cultures, there were many attempts to banish our pre-Celtic traditions, yet now at this time I feel a resurgence and I feel it is time to speak of this memory again. For that alone will activate its memory in you. I feel it is time to bring back the oral traditions and ignite these original teachings.
In truth this is what ORIGEN is, a space simply created for this archaic memory to come alive again, not through teaching but instead through the oral transmission. These original “teachings” are not just confined to the borders of the Emerald Isle, and in fact they are not teachings at all.
They are the living essence of nature itself.
It is a living intelligence that lives and breaths through all archaic cultures through-out the world and has done so throughout the ages. It is a living wisdom that lives and breaths within each of our cells, waiting for the right time, at the right chosen moment it would be remembered once again.
This is one of the many reasons my own personal journey led me to many parts of the world, to visit many original cultures, traditions and teachings. I was fascinated to explore the wisdom held by these people and cultures, most of which I thought to be lost, as I could not find traces, in any books or manuscripts. But when you visit these places, it is evident that this same intelligence is alive in the people, and even if they are still not aware of it. It is alive in the way they speak, their traditions and within the land, their place of origin and where they reside. In fact, it is very much alive for those who are ready to truly see, to hear and most importantly for those who are ready to feel.
What I realised from my travels, is that there is an original thread of wisdom that connects all of our human cultures. A thread so ancient in its origin, it surpasses any of the religious or spiritual teachings we have today. While they may appear to be ancient in their origin, this original wisdom stems further and is far more archaic, yet at the same time feels far more familiar.
How could this be? How do we reconnect and bring this living intelligence alive once again?
This is why my journey led me back home, to Ireland (Eirú), the Emerald Isle, to begin the quest to unravel the story of my own origins, my own ancestry and to investigate how even my own pre-Celtic Culture, may be connected to this original wisdom. Not realising that it would be the key.
There is a reason many hearts are drawn to Ireland, to our folklore, traditions and our culture. Perhaps the longing, the warmth, the lightness, or connection you feel to this land, to this place or the Irish people, is more of a ancient nostalgia. A memory that is held deep within our human genome, that is not limited by place or race. It is a memory held in the genetic memory of all human beings, that has being laying dormant until such a time, we were ready to restore it once again.
When I say memory, what I am speaking to is genetic instruction: information within our human DNA, that holds instructions how to unlock the greater spectrum of our human potential. We are entering a new era, one where we will be re-remembering our capacity to feel full spectrum, to realise the full capacity of our human intelligence and with that, bring a new spirit or awareness alive in the body.
A spirit that remembers song, joy, dance, that celebrates movement, nature and art. One that is deeply mystical, yet holds a deep reverence for the sciences, and invites you into a deeper level of intelligence in the body, where the mind-heart-gut brain work together in synthesis again.
It will be a remembering of our ancient-future or in our Gaelic folklore we call this the “Tír Na Nóg ”, the land of no time or heaven on earth.
Perhaps most of our Gaelic myths did not predict a “past” place or memory, they were instead referring to our ancient future, or even more so, they were speaking to the timeless space or awareness we would finally enter into at this time. A space where all all timelines, past and present, all cultures, teachings, philosophies would weave into one thread, one awareness: realising that the true “Heaven on Earth”, is here, in the body, waiting to be realised.
In fact my name Niamh, [ˈniːəv], derives from that very ancient myth. Niamh was the mythical princess of Tír Na Nóg and some would say her role was to invite people to join her in this timeless space. Perhaps it is no coincidence that I am now playing a similar role, inviting you and others back to the timeless dimension within yourself, by creating spaces, events, writings and multi-sensory inner quests which are designed to ignite this cellular remembrance.
In our original pre-Celtic Culture, we did not use language or word or the oral transmission, unless it was for a specific purpose. We understood that word, held power to influence our inner and outer world powerfully and so it was used only when necessary. Instead feeling itself was our primitive language and word/song was only reserved to perform alchemy.
As a people we recognised that the human body was a very sophisticated technology that held all the genetic instruction and we could switch on or off specific genetic traits and abilities utilising the resonance of sound, of word: words being energetic keys. We also recognised that the waters in our body held memories. These memories or imprints are more pictorial, symbolic or mythic in nature, and there were certain myths, tales or folklore, that were specifically designed by our people, to be spoken, yet only at certain time.
These stories, and myths, were so precise, in fact they had to be spoken in a particular sequence, follow a specific cadence, and pace, to ensure the frequency of the words would activate the dormant genetic instructions, and switch on the new genetic sequences and traits, imbuing those present with the awareness to express more of their true human potential
These stories and myths of course, as I have mentioned were not captured in any ancient books, or manuscripts, they instead were mastered by tongue, they were passed down through the oral traditions, from one family member to another, and the memory was held in our cells, waiting for a time where these mythical memories would awaken and be spoken once again.
In ancient times, it was only the Seanchai (SHAN-ə-khee, -KHEE), the Storytellers or Bards) what were bestowed with the art of sharing these stories and speaking these words. It took on average over 30 years to master this art, as it was known and understood that each word, when spoken acted as a spell, an energetic key that could either switch on or switch off genetic traits and memories both in an individual but also in the collective too. That is why this role was highly revered and respected and those who carried this gift, also carried great burden and responsibility.
In fact in those times, there were myths and stories and genetic activations that were revealed, ahead of its time. Stories for a future moment in time. Stories so powerful that they would awaken humanity out of the great maya entirely. Stories that would activate the full spectrum of the human genome. But those stories could not be spoken at that time, they were designed for the time of the great remembering or mythical end time. At a time, when all storylines had already played out, and as a collective we were ready to awaken out of the great maya and into a new experience of our divinity and humanity.
Now, some our past myths have always pointed to an “end time” of sorts. A time of great closure, some depict destruction and others a return to a heavenly realm. These stories merely just prepared the human psyche for this time, where the true story could be revealed. We now living in an “end time”, a time of revelation and new beginnings. A time where the original story is ready to be received, and perhaps the key lies in the oral transmission.
Perhaps even as I speak to the oral traditions, a new translation will emerge. For I foresee that we may envisage the role of storytelling in our modern world, now through an entirely new lens. For we now live in an age, where we have the capacity to bridge our awareness of science and spirituality and we are now understanding language of sound, light and geometry.
We can see that the word itself acts as a frequency and with the field of study around epigenetics, we now understand, that it is the frequency passing through our human body, our cells and our DNA that determines the genetic potential that we express.
We do not need to see storytelling as an ancient practice, perhaps we will now see it as a timeless technology and see that it is time to resurrect its true purpose.
Maybe even my ancestors would say, that story is an organic technology, that was designed most specifically for this time, more than any time. A time where we would come face-to-face with our greatest mirror: an artificial counterpart. A time of ultimate self-reflection. Perhaps storytelling is the most sophisticated technology to exist, the only one that can assist us during this this genetic crossroads?
Will we choose to assimilate into an ever increasing artificial world, or will story itself remind us of our predestined potential and finally will awaken to who we have always been destined to become?
A full Spectrum Organic Human being.
So that is why at time time, I cannot deny the call to create a space express this and to bring alive the oral transmissions again, not in archaic sense, but in a way where modern meets old, and where we can restore the remembrance of our original human potential once again.

Now this is a story that is certainly to be continued…
There are many layers to this conversation and while I may initially share this through the lens of the mythic, later we will explore this dialogue through the lens of the sciences, then a greater remembering will occur.
